Dr. Waslen received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 and her DMD in 1978 from the University of Saskathchewan. She then went to Henry Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry at Boston University to study Endodontics, specifically the warm gutta percha technique under Dr. Herbert Schilder. In 1981 she received her Advanced Graduate Study in Endodontics certificate and has been practicing in Toronto since then.

Dr. Waslen has also taught Endodontics in the post-graduate program at Boston University, and the pre-clinical, clinical and post-graduate Endodontics at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Waslen has an interest in the regeneration and repair treatment of bony lesions and tooth defects caused by diseased nerve tissue by non surgical means.
