Dr. Thuan Dao received her D.M.D. from the University of Montreal in 1985, M.Sc. from the University of Montreal in 1990, Diploma in Prosthodontics from the University of Toronto in 1991 and Ph.D. from the University of Montreal in 1995.
She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and holds cross appointments at the University of Toronto Center for the Study of Pain, and the Wasser Pain Management Center at Mount Sinai Hospital.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a Member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons Ontario, the Canadian Association for Dental Research, the Association of the University of Teachers of Orofacial Pain Program, the International Association for the Study of Pain, the Canadian Pain Society, and the International College of Prosthodontic. She was the President and Councilor of the Neuroscience Group of the International Association for Dental Research.
Dr. Dao's research and publications are mainly focused on the pathophysiology and management of orofacial pain and sensory disorders.
